AAME is an arts council formed as a service organization for artists, arts organizations and other cultural endeavors throughout the Mountain Empire.

Nominations Sought for 2006 Arts Awards

KINGSPORT, TN — The Arts Council of Greater Kingsport is seeking nominations for its 2006 Arts Awards, to be held September 30. Categories are: Arts Leadership, Distinguished Artist, and Distinguished Patron. Any organization, business or individual within Tennessee may nominate. Nine awards will be presented during the Arts Awards.

The Arts Leadership Award(s) recognizes organizations, educators and arts administrators who have demonstrated significant support of, or participation in, activities which foster excellence in, appreciation of, or access to, the arts in the Greater Kingsport area.

The Distinguished Artist Award(s) recognizes artists of exceptional talent and creativity — in any discipline — who, over the course of their lifetime, have contributed to the arts in the Greater Kingsport area and have helped guide and influence directions, trends, and aesthetic practices.

The Distinguished Patron Award(s) recognizes volunteers, businesses and/or corporations who have a demonstrated commitment to supporting the arts in the Greater Kingsport area.

Nomination forms, along with copies of support materials, are due no later than 4:00 pm, July 1, 2006. Forms are available at Food City on Eastman Road, in the Cultural Services office in the Kingsport Renaissance Center, and on-line at www.kingsportARTS.com
